Today Denise took in vitamin C IV's, baked in the infrared sauna closet, then rode the Oxygen bike further breaking all time records here on file. There is this small cafe connected to out buildings and a common area which remains set for open-air venues.... old southwestern town-ish. A yoga studio occupies one of those out buildings. I stepped in and took a yoga class while Denise got onboard with things at "Oasis". Denise and I still enjoy participating in Yoga (together) whenever possible....she got to ride the bike again today instead... and that was great.

Diet is as much an important part of the program as are the administered therapies and treatments. Everyday Denise, along with the other patients, drink a quart or more of pure fresh vegetable juice. The juice is a blend of a variety of green vegetables which contain phyto-nutrients. (I think this means powerfully nutritious). The diet protocol is organic raw vegan... this had been proven to be the most nutritious and easiest for the body to process. This was reviewed in depth upon our arrival, which will be close to two weeks now. Denise and I continually discuss how impressed we are with the quality of care and attention that she receives daily. On Fridays a thorough review of all of the treatments are explained by a nurse. This is helpful in that it gives us a clear understanding of what Denise will undergo in the upcoming week. Tomorrow Denise will start an aggressive three-a-week IPT protocol. The smaller doses of chemo allow Dr Lodi to administer it on a more frequent basis.

As I wrap this up for today, Denise is taking it easy close by. I 'm writing this blog and reflecting on our intentions for coming here. Obviously, we came here for Denise to heal. We came out here with resolve, willing to give it everything we've got.... Denise is doing everything physically, mentally and spiritually possible to stay strong, so she can turn this ship around.

We received a package stuffed with cards and encouraging messages yesterday. As we sat on the bed reading the cards and notes, we were filled with gratitude for being part of such a caring and supportive community.
