Yesterday was Denise's memorial celebration. Our friend Michele facilitated a beautiful ceremony as family and close friends gathered close by. At the conclusion, following a letter from Denise to the girls, songs from songmakers, sacred chants and prayers, a white dove was released. The girls and I stood in a slight semi-circle, as the top to the basket was folded open. The pure white dove sprung from the bottom of the heart-shaped creel, pausing briefly before taking wing. At the moment the bird left our sight, the lone bagpiper bellowed "Flowers Of The Forest,"  and lead us from the alter into the midst of our family and friends. Even as this marked the conclusion of the formal ceremony, Denise's infinite presence was still as fresh and obvious as ever.

Today it was confirmed by the bird's caretaker that the elegant white Dove had indeed made it's way back home...

Love to you all,

Jason
