Today has arrived…and while Denise is beginning her morning ritual, I am assisting her and preparing to meet Mary and the girls. Today we will have a chance to visit the facility together as a family while Denise is receiving some of the less taxing therapies.
Denise is fairly uncomfortable from the build-up of (ascites) fluid in her abdomen. The wait was intentional, to allow doctors enough space (in the abdomen) to perform the minor surgery needed. They will be threading a small tube (plurax drain) through the right side of her lower abdominal cavity. We both look forward to this operation, as it will give us the ability to manage the content of fluid as it accumulates. The plan is...as the IPT treatments lessen the cancerous hold on the liver, the fluid will slowly continue to rescind.
Time to get the show on the road...there is a wind of excitement blowing across the desert floor.
