Denise will be going in for an outpatient procedure to have a port surgically implanted tomorrow. This is necessary due to some difficulties accessing veins when IV's need to be administered. In addition to the port, the surgeon is installing a temporary drain tube, which will allow Denise to control and reduce the volume of ascites (abdominal fluid) that collects in her abdomen. The tube is very small and undetectable.
The IPT therapy scheduled for today should be clear for tomorrow. The IPT directly attacks the cancer but is 90% less toxic than traditional Chemo. This is important in that it opens the door for the complimentary therapies to boost her immune system.
Tomorrow we check out another possible house under South Mountain in Mesa, which will put us within 10 minutes of the facility. If this works out, this will give Denise and I some privacy along with enough room for the kids to be comfortable, when they come to visit.
I have tremendous confidence in Denise... she is willful and strong..... She's my hero.
